With Hallowe'en only 27 days away I just had to ask this question:

Do you believe in ghosts or other supernatual beings?

Yes - I believe in ghosts and all those other things people say aren't real.

Not really (I'm more inclined to think they're names for things we don't yet have explanations for), but I can't say with 100% certainty that they're not real...

Husband has just confirmed what I had been thinking...we have a ghost in the house. He's described it as about 5'0 to 5'2" and he's seeing very brief glimpses of it, on the stairs and at the top. Of course, I'm staying awake to see if I can catch a glimpse....it has a sense of humour too. My cats play with it. Next question?

Truly scary you would ask. I just told a friend here on lj my theory on ghosts just tonight. Funny how conversations really do go in circles eventually even with unconnected people.
OK, so my theory....
Backed up by several medical professionals since I explained it to them if you can imagine that! I think that was freaker than the theory...lol.
So when a person looses a limb, i.e. arm, leg, finger, etc..., in a tramautic and/or sudden way they suffer from "phantom feelings" where the limb used to be. Example being pain, itching, hot, cold, and the like. If that same person had lost the limb slowly due to illness or disease the human brain could then process that the limb is dying, thus the person has no "phantom feelings" as a result of simply the subconscience realization that the limb is going and then gone. My theory is that this same medical marvel applies to the total body as well. If you loose your body suddenly you are then a "phantom". Thus we have proof of ghosts who have "unfinished business" as people like to put it. Even if the "business" is simply waiting for the realization that their body is now dead.
I guess I could have simply said yes....LOL!

Absolutly! My resident visitor is a wizard though there have been others passing through, my father, my favourite aunt and my great grandma. I just wish I could get a better look at the guy in a black cloak who breezes through every so often.
